It was very easy to put together-however its made of very cheap wood and fabric. it smelt very bad and still smells to this day. in the pic it lookS pretty big but its very small and my adult male cat is to big for it.. its better for smaller cats.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ITEM!!!!
Platforms are not level to the ground . the perches are too small for an adult cat to feel safe to lay in. the columns do not screw in properly, therefore the unit does not stand safely. cats do not like a platform that moves. Honestly, this is a piece not worth looking at and waste your money on. If I could carry it, It would have been sent back.
This is our second cat tree, our first purchase was about 8 years ago and it cost 350.00. So you can imagine when we saw this, we thought what a bargain. After reading all the reviews for this item, we figured ” what have we got to lose” for only 99.99 plus shipping and handling, it was still less than half of what we paid years ago.
CONS:
- Product came dirty/dusty and we felt the need to wipe down all parts with Melaleuca Sol-u-Guard which is an natural anti-bacterial cleaning agent. Not knowing what the dust was on the tree, we did not want to expose the kitty’s to any harmful chemicals.
- Box is very heavy, about 80lbs. If you are a single women, eat your wheaties before attempting to bring this inside.
- As mentioned in a previous email, we got overcharged on the shipping. I am thinking of contacting the company but have yet to do so.
- Our first tree was berber carpeted and both underside and topside of perches were covered. This one is on the cheaper side, regular plush carpeting, very thin and bottoms of perches are not covered.
PROS:
- We mainly bought this for our youngest cat who gets bored VERY easily. Well, she loves it! She is in it every day, scratching the poles and playing with the attached mice. The other cats have accessed it but, not to the extend of our youngest.
- I did not put it together, but my husband said it was fairly easy. Previous reviews mentioned different.
- It does not take up as much room as I thought it would. Fits nicely in front of a window.
All in all I would recommend the product. As long as you don’t have super high expectations, you will not be disappointed, and your cats will be kept happy.
first off besides the fact that one of the pieces came broken and the instructions suck the product is great. the worst thing was the service. They sent me the wrong tracking number so I couldnt even track the shippment, then when I got it the directions were horrible and as stated before a piece was broken. they supposedly mailed me a replacement piece but after more than a week I still have not recieved it. then I wrote a negative review and they emailed me saying if I remove my review they will give me a discount but I had to remove it 1st. Its not like they said we are sorry for the bad experience so as a courtesy we will give you a credit for this % they only cared about the bad review. I would NEVER recommend using a skeezy company that will black mail customers to not be honest and I should not have to do anything for them to want to right the situation. I would look for a different company if I were you!!
This item was just what we wanted. We have three kittens and they all love it… Most of all, we love watching them climb and jump all over it. I did notice that they get bored with it and when I haven’t seen them on it for a couple day I spray it with cat nip spray and all the fun starts again..
